Mark – Amazing HOST, COMPERE, MC compere and master of ceremonies
Mark hosts countless events around the world, from awards dinners to business summits, ‘live’ TV programmes, fundraisers, concerts, music festivals and more.
He fronted a successful ‘sportsman’s-dinners-for-the-troops’ tour in 2000 across war-torn Kosovo with England’s World Cup winners and he even hosted the world-famous dog show ‘Crufts’ at the NEC Arena in Birmingham!
In just one 12 month period, Mark appeared in Brunei, made three trips (coast to coast) across the USA, plus trips to host events in Malaysia, Portugal (twice), Germany (twice), Switzerland (twice) and Hungary. This meant 41 flights and over 123,000 miles!
In addition to these appearances, Mark compere and master of ceremonies has continued to host numerous events around the UK. Mark has hosted Manchester United’s Player-of-the-Year awards every year since 2002. He has been live MC for Sky Sports’ Masters Football, hosting all their televised tournaments across the UK, plus those in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Brunei and Macau in China, presenting all the live TV interviews too.
Mark has also covered Rugby League and cricket, featuring on both Channel 4 and Sky Sports on their ODIs, Test Matches and County games’ live coverage from around the UK, where he conducted all the televised interviews with Sir Ian Botham, David Gower, David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd, Michael Holding and the late, great Richie Benaud.
Mark has unrivalled experience as one of the UK’s top radio presenters. He made his name at Liverpool’s Radio City during their illustrious heyday, became an award-winner (with a Sony®) for hosting the ‘Biggest Solo Concert in history’, Michael Jackson at Aintree Racecourse, where he entertained the crowd of over 125,000 onstage all day.
Frequently voted radio ‘Presenter of the month’, he also received many accolades from the Variety Club of Great Britain, where Mark has been a Barker for many years. He’s also covered Manchester United’s, Glasgow Celtic’s and Liverpool FC’s pre-season American tours for UK radio.
After several successful years broadcasting on the two huge Century FM networks (now Smooth FM), Mark returned to host a daily UK-networked programme on Magic. He’s been regularly heard on Manchester’s Magic 1152 (formerly Piccadilly Radio).
Mark even spread his experienced wings (and tonsils) over to the other side of the Atlantic, featuring on American radio stations WEFT and Q-96 in Champaign, Illinois, where he also hosted the American Heart Association’s black-tie fundraising dinners in 2010 and 2011, helping to raise record-breaking amounts in the auctions.
