Accomplished and experienced international Jo Contortion and Aerialist has over 13 years experience performing with gymnastics, theatre and circus for a variety of events ranging from commercials and music videos to corporate events and private parties and everything in between. She can offer a range of exquisite, breathtaking acts. Skill set includes aerial hoop, silks, corde lisse, trapeze, aerial arch contortion and duo contortion.
Dedicating herself to performance in Circus Arts, Jo has achieved a BA(Hons) Degree from The Circus Space. During studies at The Circus Space, Jo further honed her skills by intensively studying aerial hoop and pushing the boundaries of what is possible on a simple piece of equipment. Complimenting her aerial abilities by developing skills in acrobatics, contemporary dance, ballet, hand balancing and flexibility. Jo fuses her abilities in circus, theatre and gymnastics and now offers a wide range of aerial hoop acts, ranging from narrative, to beautiful, to absurd.
Jo Contortionist and Aerialist has performed in various venues in London and the UK including The Roundhouse, Café De Paris, The Grosvenor House Hotel and Westfields, Stratford. International credits include a long term contract at Grand Melia, Palacio De Isora Tenerife, private weddings in Beirut, Lebanon, One Abu Dhabi and Formula One, Delhi, India. She has also featured in London 2012 Olympic Ceremonies, Paolo Nutini’s One Day video and Sony Xperia T4 commercial. Jo is a member of Cirque Du Soliel’s artistes and was shortlisted as “Best Circus Act” in London Cabaret Awards 2014!
Jo Contortionist and Aerialist is able to work as part of an ensemble, offers doubles acts in addition to her diverse range of solo acts!
