Flamenco Guitarist David had his initial flamenco guitar studies were with performer and author, Marcos (in England) and then with Jose Luis Balao and Manuel Lozano ‘El Carbonero’ (Jerez de la frontera) in Andalucia.
These early influences created a life-long love of flamenco in all its forms – guitar, cante (song) and baile (dance) – as well as the art of flamenco music composition.
Since then, Guitarist David has performed and taught flamenco guitar, giving his London South Bank debut with Marcos at the Purcel Room in 1991 and completing numerous Arts Council Tours, as well as accompanying some of the finest flamenco dancers of today.
He always had a particular interest in composing and arranging flamenco music which has resulted in numerous original works, though he always keeps a selection of traditional and modern classics in his repertoire. His original compositions were unexpectedly but favourably acknowledged by the great Spanish poet and flamenco expert, Felix Grande.
