Female Vocalist Laura B is a versatile singer, with her repertoire ranging from rock, pop, soul, country, musical theatre and classical. She is known for her powerhouse voice, charismatic stage presence and her vast experience in the music industry shines through in every performance.
Laura signed her first record deal with Jive/Zomba (Sony) at the age of 16, as part of international girl group Fem@il. As the lead singer of Fe-m@il, Laura and the band travelled the world and featured in various magazine publications and made radio and tv appearances on a range of shows such as; Top of The Pops 2 (BBC), The Pepsi Chart Show (Channel 5), SMTV Live (ITV), Fully Booked (BBC), Diggit (ITV), Nickelodeon and The Disney Channel. The highlight of the TV appearances, was when the band sang live with Lionel Ritchie on The Big Breakfast (C4) in an impromptu sing-a-long around the piano.
The band also performed a UK tour singing live to large audiences in concerts and festivals, the highlights were performing to a crowd of 90,000 at Hyde Park’s infamous Party in The Park and a crowd of 50,000 for T4 on the Beach.
Prior to this, Female Vocalist Laura B first appeared on TV in ‘Michael Barrymore’s My Kind of People’ on ITV at the age of 12 years old and later that year won a National ‘Search for a Superstar’ singing competition, whereby she featured on BBC news.
Laura has also featured as a live vocalist for garage icons Artful Dodger and she can also be heard on the new Samu.l EP featured in the current UK Dance charts.
After working as a professional singer for a number of years, Laura took a hiatus to pursue her love of acting and completed a Drama and Performance degree, gaining 1st Class honours. She then went on to complete her Masters in Performance and trained to be a teacher, gaining a PGCE. After training to be an actor, Laura co-founded the Physical Theatre company ‘Void’ and toured the UK performing in theatres and at festivals.
Throughout her career in the industry, Laura has sang live alongside some of the biggest names in music, ranging from chart topper Lionel Ritchie to West End star Lee Mead.
Laura’s solo shows are packed with show stopping vocals, fun, energy and warmth, she leaves all audiences wanting more with her talent ranging from Musical Theatre and Classical singing to Pop, Jazz and Soul.
Laura’s featured shows are Diva’s, Voices and Sounds of the Stage and Screen. Laura also performs across the UK with an extensive party set repertoire.
Female Vocalist Laura B continues to work in corporate events across the UK and Europe as a soloist and as a lead singer in show bands and is looking to continue her love of working at sea as a guest entertainer with her two cabaret shows ‘Voices’ and ‘Divas’.
